She Really Wants To...

Crawl and Pull Up. She's trying very hard, but hasn't quite figured either out just yet.

On a side note...excuse my constant changes of the blog. I enjoy creating new stuff and changing it around. I hope it doesn't drive anyone nuts!

Fever, Fever and More Fever

It's been a LONG week. I picked Ainsley up Tuesday from my parents and she was beginnign to run a fever. She ran a fairly high fever Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and lucky me, it was accompanied by the inability to keep her food down. After a trip to the after hours clinic and our own pediatrician, she just had a nasty virus. She was unable to eat and I was lucky to get pedialyte and tylenol or motrin down her every now and then. Friday the fever was gone and she was eating again, but she screamed in pain for almost an hour every time she ate. Saturday morning, she was very suddenly completely back to normal. It's weird how they can suddenly be just fine, like nothing ever happened. And its even weirder how she can manage to be sooo sick, but the second daddy comes home and mommy isn't alone anymore she can be just fine.

Dustin was suppose to be home Friday evening around 8pm, but his flight was delayed and didn't depart the gate in Chicago until 8:30pm and then didn't take off for another hour! He landed at DFW at 12:45am Saturday morning, but we didn't make it home until 2am. Needless to say we were exhausted yesterday. A huge thank you to Christi for being a wonderful friend and sitting at our house in the middle of the night so I didn't have to take a sick Ainsley to the airport with me.

With all the craziness, I haven't taken any pictures this week worth posting. So instead here is another picture my mom took while Ainsley was in Shreveport. That's Tucker she's hugging, perhaps the best hunting dog ever (at least in my family's opinion) who also thinks he is a lap dog.

This Little Piggy Went to Shreveport...

Ainsley is in Shreveport with Nana and Papaw. This is the first time we've been away from her. I think we are more distraught than she is. We've called her several times; she hasn't called us a single time! Looks like she's having fun! She even met a new friend, Lyla.

And These Little Piggies went to Chicago

Dustin and I are in Chicago. I leave on Monday and he will be here through Friday on business. So far we've been to Navy Pier where we got up close and personal with a goose, Shedd Aquarium where we met some dolphins, the Magnificent Mile which wasn't so impressive and we've walked A LOT. On the menu tomorrow is a Cubs game and deep dish pizza.

Bluebonnets

Every baby in Texas has to have their pictures taken with the bluebonnets right? Unfortunately they really haven't bloomed that well in our area this year, but there is a nice patch not too far from our house. We packed Ainsley up this afternoon and drove over there. We got her situated and took a few shots and the battery went dead...go figure. So here are two of the four pictures I did get. If the bluebonnets last long enough, we will try to go back in two weeks (we will be out of town next weekend) to take some more. Next time hopefully I can have enough battery life to check the lighting. Sonia...the pouty pic is just for you.

This last picture is to commemorate Ainsley's first 2+ hour nap. She's an excellent sleeper, but horrible napper. She typically takes about 3 1 hours naps throughout the day plus a few cat naps here and there in the car. She fought the cat naps today and finally took a 2 and a half hour nap this afternoon!

7 Months!

She's 7 months today! It's so hard to believe. It's been a busy month between teething and learning to sit. I have a feeling the coming month might be full of learning to crawl and getting into things and maybe a few more teeth.

Paws Off!

It may look like a dog biscuit, but its a teething biscuit and Ainsley was not about to share with Charlie. Can you blame Charlie and Gabe for the confusion though? Grammy and Grandpa bought Ainsley some teething biscuits yesterday and she seems to really like them (Dustin says they taste good...I'm just taking his word for it). The only thing is she sops them up so fast that they break and then we have to take them away and then she gets mad.

Ainsley very suddenly started trying to get up onto her knees today. She pushes her bottom up and tries to bring her knees up quickly and them plops back onto her belly. She's doing pretty good though. Once she tries something she gets the hang of it quickly, so I'm sure she will pull it off before the weekend. I guess crawling will follow soon after that!

I've updated the shutterfly collection (link to the right) with Ainsley's 6 month pictures. Tomorrow is 7 months! It's also our 3rd anniversary and we have dinner plans, but I'll try to get her 7 month pictures posted tomorrow, or the next day if I can't tomorrow.

DVDs, Dogs and Spoons

What do they have in common? Not a whole lot other than Ainsley seems to thoroughly enjoy all three. She watched her first DVD last week and as you can tell below, she go into it...for about 15 minutes and then she was totally over it and rolled off to do something else. She loves her puppies and her puppies love her...for now. I can only wonder what they will think of her once she can run faster than they can. And she loves to play with her spoon when I feed her, until she makes a mess and mommy takes it away.
