Sweet Thing!

Amelia likes to keep her rolling private. She still has yet to roll over for us, but she woke up on her stomach this morning and she woke up from a nap on her stomach. Sweet Amelia must not like rolling around in public.

Learning to Roll With It

Learning to roll over is hard work! Amelia wore herself out tonight trying to roll over and took a nap right where she left off.

We Did It!

She did it! Ainsley peed in the potty! And even better, she asked to sit on the potty and almost immediately went. I think she was a bit scared at how excited I got, then she got excited too. By the time we got the camera out she was over it, although she did try to point it out for the camera! Now we need to teach her not to stick her hand in the potty!

Memorial Day Fun

Today we slept in (8:40!), went shopping, played inside, played outside and then played inside some more. Ainsley was playing with a piece of ribbon I saved for crafts and I tied it on her head. She grabbed another piece and told me, "Sissy." So I obliged and tied a bow around Amelia's head too. If you know me, you know I hate big bows on babies (they can wear big bows when they have the hair to support them), so I found it amusing and took a picture of the girls together which of course didn't come out because I had messed with the settings on my camera. Luckily the picture of just Amelia did. Bet you never thought you'd see a baby girl of mine as a bow head huh?

Day Before Memorial Day Fun

Today we went to Derek and Andrea's house to cook out. Our little group's numbers have grown to include 9 children with the addition of 4 babies in the last year (3 in just the last 4 months), so needless to say, it was a little more chaotic than normal, but the older kids had a blast. Ainsley took a few minutes to come out of her shell and then joined in the chaos. She wasn't so sure about playing in the pool with the big girls jumping in around her and she wanted nothing to do with the bounce house until it was almost time to go, then she suddenly loved it! She also took time to try to put Presley and Anna to sleep since we left her baby dolls at home. Now we are all exhausted and getting ready to go to bed early!

Some A Lot of Saturday Snap Shots

Waiting...and waiting...and waiting...but still nothing. But she sure does love sitting there and checking to see if something shows up!

Taking care of twins! She's a busy little mama now!

Too darn cute...

Has Charlie become the third baby? Could it be triplets?

And Amelia rolled over! Kind of...once she got her hips over, she wouldn't take her fist out of her mouth to let her shoulders follow! Maybe tomorrow!

For Eleanor

Ainsley really digs your moves Eleanor! She watched your dancing video over and over and over and threw a fit when daddy wouldn't start it again. Thanks for sharing!

Insert Fist Here

Amelia has never been into the pacifier. I didn't allow her to have one early on and once I did allow it, she didn't care for it. It's kind of nice not having to get up and replace it in the middle of the night. And while she would suck on her hand when hungry, until recently she did not do it just to pacify herself. This past week we've found her sucking her fist a lot. And quite frankly, this evening I was a little worried she just might swallow it.

Goof

Ainsley is suddenly very into the infant swing that she wasn't very into at Amelia's age. I checked the weight limit...25 lbs...Ainsley's still just under 24 lbs at her last weight check so hopefully she doesn't do too much damage.

And here's Ainsley checking on Amelia.

3 Months

Amelia is already 3 months old today. She is smiling more and more, but is still a bit camera shy. She's been doing well at daycare and has overcome her negative feelings towards the bottle. She's also working on her rollover skills, although she's not quite there just yet.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to my mother, Dustin's mom, and all our friends and family who are mothers!

I am so thankful for my two beautiful daughters. When I found out I was pregnant with Amelia, I went through a lot of emotions from excitement to guilt. I was afraid I was gipping Ainsley out of her only-child time with us earlier than we had planned. Even up until the time Amelia was born, I was worried about how Ainsley would handle it. After all, she wasn't exactly old enough to know what was about to happen in her life.

Ainsley has completely surprised me the last three months. While she has her moments and rightfully so, she doesn't seem jealous of Amelia and has embraced her new role as a big sister. She tries to take care of her sissy by covering her with blankets and helping burp her and she has to give Amelia a hug every night before going to bed. In watching me with Amelia, Ainsley has really taken to mothering her baby doll, even more so than when I last wrote about it. I love watching her. Tonight she loved on her baby for about a hour and probably would have continued to until she crashed if I hadn't made her go to bed. But there was no seperating her from her baby. Baby went to bed with Ainsley.

Happy Mother's Day to our little mama!

Bath Towels and PJs

Amelia was too cute after bath time not to take a picture! And those PJs she's wearing are 9 month PJs that Ainsley was still wearing at a year old and they aren't too big for Amelia!
