Duck Hunting

Okay...so she isn't duck hunting just yet, but I'm sure Dustin and my dad will have a shot gun in her hands as soon as she's old enough (I believe 8 was the magical age for me). Ainsley made her second visit to the duck camp in Arkansas over the New Year's holiday. We didn't get a chance to take pictures of her there when we went after Thanksgiving. This time we were able to get pictures of her and she was able to wear her new camo from Grammy and Grandpa.

We had a great time until she got sick on New Year's Eve. She had been crying all day, but didn't have a fever until about 10 that night when it was very suddenly at 102.8. So we headed to the ER in Texarkana and I won't even get into that fiasco. She is fine now. We visited our pediatrician again yesterday and she still has her ear infections. We are trying to treat them one more time before she will refer us on to an ENT. She's had ear infections for almost a month now. So Ainsley spent her very first New Year's Eve in the ER with Dustin and I and Nana and Papaw. Had it not been for Ainsley, I think we all would have been in bed asleep and never seen the New Year come in. We hope your New Year's was a little less chaotic than ours. Here are the pics.

LoLo

LoLo and Ainsley met for the first time Saturday. For those of you who do not know LoLo, she has been a part of our family for over 50 years. Just over a year ago she moved to Houston to live closer to her family, but she decided to come back home to Shreveport. She moved home the day after Christmas, so I took Ainsley to meet her the first chance I got. It was a short visit, but I'm happy that she is in Shreveport again and we can both visit her more often. Here are a couple of pictures from our visit.

1st Christmas Photos

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. Ainsley was showered with gifts and attention and passed out at the end of the day. I've never seen her so tired. Here are a few pics of her first Christmas.

Doctor's visits

Ainsley had her first sick visit to the Dr. last week...twice. Tuesday we went and she just had a cold. By Friday she had developed a cough and just seemed more pathetic so we went again. By the second visit, she had developed not one, but two ear infections. So now she's on her first round of antibiotics. She doesn't seem to be a whole lot better just yet. Saturday was a good day, but yesterday and today have been a bit rough. Please say a little prayer for her that she feels better soon!

3 Months Old and Baptism

UPDATED: My mom sent me a disk with pics, so I've added them below. I will add her three month picture soon (I hope...).

Ainsley is three months old today! She is still small (we think approximately 11 pounds), but she is getting so strong. She was so determined to see the bright colors of the TV this morning and was so close to rolling over from her back to her tummy to do so. I think she will pull it off very soon! She also loves "talking" now. We have conversations with each other every day when I come home from work. She will babble on and on while giving me her biggest grin!

Ainsley was baptized this morning at St. Andrew United Methodist. It was such a special day. Nana and Papaw, Grammy and Grandpa, Granny Doe and Papa James, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Paul, cousins Alex, Luke, and Ellie and our friends Brian and Christi were all there to support her. Thank you so much to each of you for being there to share this special moment with us. She wore the same christening gown I wore and of course looked beautiful!

I left my camera in my mom's purse, so I will have to post pictures at a later date. I have another camera and will get some 3 month pictures of her today and post soon. She's barely slept today and I just finally got her down for a nap. We've got a work Christmas party to go to this evening and I'm praying she survives it!

Thanksgiving and more

As promised, now that I've returned to work, its harder to find time to update the blog.

We spent Thanksgiving in Little Rock at Michelle and Shawn's. Ainsley and I flew up there all by ourselves on Thursday morning. She was such a good girl on the plane! I was so nervous I'd be the annoying one with the crying baby on the plane! Ainsley got to meet her Aunt Ginger for the first time. Between Aunt Ginger, Michelle, Shawn and her Nana, someone had her in their arms at all times. She also got lots of kisses from her new friend Murphy, Michelle and Shawn's golden. I think Murphy is looking forward to a little one of his own to kiss! The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we drove down to the duck camp with my mom and met up with Dustin and my dad. No hunting for Ainsley yet, but she enjoyed being at the camp none the less. I decided to skip hunting this year to stay with her, but hopefully will be able to go next year. Dustin and my dad had very good hunts and had a good time. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families and find themselves with as much to be thankful for as we have this year.

Two Months

Ainsley is two months old today. It's hard to believe it! She had her two month well visit this morning and weighed 10 lbs exactly and is 23 inches long now. She got 5 shots and needless to say was not a happy little girl. She's a little worn out now and has been sleeping most of the day. Hopefully she will wake up later so I can take her 2 month pictures and add them to today's posting. It's hard to believe its been two months already! Unfortunately I have to return to work Tuesday and I am very sad about leaving her!

So I finally got a few 2 month pictures. My favorite is this last one. She gave me the biggest grin when I put her to bed last night.

First Babysitter

Last Friday Ainsley's Uncle Patrick came and took care of her while I went to a luncheon! She was sound asleep on his shoulder when I came home.
