7 Months!

She's 7 months today! It's so hard to believe. It's been a busy month between teething and learning to sit. I have a feeling the coming month might be full of learning to crawl and getting into things and maybe a few more teeth.

Paws Off!

It may look like a dog biscuit, but its a teething biscuit and Ainsley was not about to share with Charlie. Can you blame Charlie and Gabe for the confusion though? Grammy and Grandpa bought Ainsley some teething biscuits yesterday and she seems to really like them (Dustin says they taste good...I'm just taking his word for it). The only thing is she sops them up so fast that they break and then we have to take them away and then she gets mad.

Ainsley very suddenly started trying to get up onto her knees today. She pushes her bottom up and tries to bring her knees up quickly and them plops back onto her belly. She's doing pretty good though. Once she tries something she gets the hang of it quickly, so I'm sure she will pull it off before the weekend. I guess crawling will follow soon after that!

I've updated the shutterfly collection (link to the right) with Ainsley's 6 month pictures. Tomorrow is 7 months! It's also our 3rd anniversary and we have dinner plans, but I'll try to get her 7 month pictures posted tomorrow, or the next day if I can't tomorrow.

DVDs, Dogs and Spoons

What do they have in common? Not a whole lot other than Ainsley seems to thoroughly enjoy all three. She watched her first DVD last week and as you can tell below, she go into it...for about 15 minutes and then she was totally over it and rolled off to do something else. She loves her puppies and her puppies love her...for now. I can only wonder what they will think of her once she can run faster than they can. And she loves to play with her spoon when I feed her, until she makes a mess and mommy takes it away.

Pardon the Mess

Forgive my mess...as a friend called it, I'm trying to bling my blog and I'm learning as I go. So if you notice things rapidly changing...its just me probably messing things up.

Tackle Me Elmo (and Charlie)

Ainsley played in her pack in play yesterday morning while I showered. Dustin was at work. Not long after I got out of the shower, I heard her little Elmo giggling. Ainsley had tackled Elmo and was repeatedly opening and closing his mouth in order to make him giggle. Then later in the day, I found her with an arm and a leg wrapped around Charlie (of course by the time I got the camera she was rolling away from him). Perhaps it's a sign that Dustin is watching too much UFC with her around...

On another note...she is doing great with her sitting up. Ainsley thinks toys are way better sitting up than laying down. She falls forward more often than backward now...either because she's grabbing for something just out of reach or because she's head banging (a new odd habit of hers). She tries hard to go forward onto her hands and knees to get what she wants, but usually ends up face planting and requiring mommy or daddy to make it better. We are also trying to teach her to wave...she's got the opening and closing of her hand down, but she does it where ever her hand is and doesn't pick her hand up. She also does it frequently and without us instigating...maybe we tried too hard.

She Sits and Spits

Ainsley is sitting up for extended periods on her own! And it couldn't come at a more perfect time. We are going to Dallas Blooms this weekend and I was really hoping she would be able to sit up for pictures (she knew this of course and worked hard to make it happen for me, or maybe it was just luck).

Ainsley is also drooling a bit more now thanks to teething. Her first tooth started coming through the day after she turned 6 months and her second tooth made its appearance this morning. Hopefully in a few more weeks her teeth will be out enough for a few cute toothy pictures.

Unfortunately, all these things are just more reminders that she is growing too quickly...well everything except her feet (she has tiny Caughron feet).

Ainsley would like to give a big Gig 'Em Aggies in honor of their win over BYU this evening.

Graduation

Ainsley has graduated to her high chair. She wouldn't sit back in her papasan to eat. She looks so tiny sitting in it, but it will do until she grows into it. She also decided to hold her bottle and feed herself last night. She's growing up too fast!

Peas Up

Ainsley has decided that instead of laying back in the baby papasan to eat, she wants to sit up in it to eat. She's typically a pretty clean eater, but eating sitting up like a big girl is a different story. I think we officially move to the high chair tomorrow and the papasan gets a washing to rid it of peas. Luckily there is always a dog around to clean up afterwards. She can sit up by herself just about everywhere except on the floor, but I'm sure that will come in the next week.

Little Genius

Ainsley is already working on her own blog. Okay, so not really, but she is at the stage where everything that isn't her toy is more interesting to her than her toys. Her current favorites are the laptop, our cell phones, the home phone, keys, the camera, and the remote control...she will have to fight her dad for that one. And then there are moments when something as dull as hanging out underneath a chair is the best thing ever!! And her newest form of entertainment...sitting up in the bath tub playing with her toys!
