Road Trip Post #1: Cameron Park Zoo

The first stop on our weekend trip was the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. If you haven't been there and are passing through Waco, I highly recommend it. It's a great little zoo and you can see a lot of animals up close. We were highly impressed. Ainsley loved everything, except the snakes perhaps and can you blame her? I'm not a big fan either.

She loved this slide that actually went through the otter exhibit. Unfortunately the otters were napping at the time.

She thought this one was a puppy...

She loved playing in the tipis while we took a break to feed Amelia.

Here are some pictures of animals we saw to give you an idea of how close up you can see which is one reason we enjoyed this zoo so much. Keep in mind I don't have a great zoom on my camera.

Does anyone else think of Buckbeak when you see this bird? It's called a Kori Bustard and its bigger than you might think. The picture is deceiving. Probably still not large enough for Harry to ride on, but it still makes me think of Buckbeak none the less. (non-Harry Potter fans...ignore this commentary).
