Amelia tried following a teacher into another room at daycare this morning shortly after I dropped her off. It wasn't a good idea. She ended up with a smashed pinkie finger. Long story short, the nail popped out of its bed and in order to insure her nail would grow back they had to reattach the nail in the bed so it would stay open for a new nail to grow in. That required not only her being sedated in the hospital, it also required a hard cast all the way up her arm to insure the new nail comes in without her messing it up.
We were at the hospital all day and by the time we got home she was ready for food and freedom to roam the floor. She's slowly figuring out how to crawl with the cast. I was certain the weight of the cast would cause her problems standing up on her own since she's just learned, but surprisingly she did it almost immediately. She fell a few times in the direction of the extra weight, but seems like she will catch on quickly.
Watch out Ainsley...Amelia's got a weapon of mass destruction for the next three weeks.

Poor Amelia. Hope she is doing better.
Poor baby! That sounds like it would hurt so badly!!! Glad to hear she's not letting it slow her down.
She still looks so cute with that big cast on her arm!! Poor girl- hope it heals quickly!
